Public Nudity: Have our rights been alienated?
In March there was the outbreak of the viral videos aimed to catch Joseph Kony in 2012. The videos gained millions of views overnight and exploded across social networking sites. In the videos, the makers claimed that having sought to stop Joseph Kony for many years now, 2012 was the year to finally initiate change. Well, there is some change that must take place on a more local level and it’s up to you, the readers, to get this revolution started.

We as Americans, students, and humans have an unalienable right to bear all that we are. Whether it be in public places such as at school or work or in the privacy of our own homes, we we will not be held down by the oppressive threads that this society calls “clothes” any longer.

This concept is known as Nudism or in Europe Naturism. It can be defined as a cultural movement practicing, advocating and defending social nudity in private and in public. This idea of social nudity developed in Europe and has since spread to North America. But really it has been around since the beginning of man. With the first people not being bound by the societal rules that plague our modern world. Too long has the crime been overlooked that it can allowed to continue any longer. It has bothered me for years and I’m sure many others as well. It is the sight of so many students bound against their will by the school administration and the media to follow such strict and heinous rules that has pushed me to make my stand.

The Theodore Roosevelt High School dress guidelines are as follows:
