Opinion: Benghazi Whistle-blowers
Benghazi-Gate has escalated due to information now revealed by the Benghazi Whistle-blowers. - Fox News Network
Recently, there has been an uproar over the 2012 September 11th attacks on the Benghazi consulate. Nicknamed the "Benghazi Whistle-blowers," Gregory  Hicks, Mark Thompson, and Eric Nordstrom before the House Oversight Committee last week. Hicks became the highest-ranking official in Benghazi when Ambassador Stevens was killed. All three came to Capitol Hill to tell what was really happening within the State Department.
Hicks was one of the first to receive Ambassador Steven's desperate phone calls and he admitted that he was stunned when he heard the YouTube video excuse. These whistle-blowers have shed light on a horrendous cover-up. America can only hope the whole truth is uncovered and those involved in the cover-up are properly apprehended.
It seems curious that this cover-up happened right around an election. President Obama had stated that he is ultimately in charge; he is the commander-in-chief. However, his actions speak otherwise. Our president and Former Secretary of State Clinton should be held accountable for their actions, or lack of action. Ambassador Stevens, on numerous occasions, requested more security. If we are sending diplomats to an unstable area, shouldn't we at least make them as safe and secure as possible? Of course, perhaps our security was much more needed in places like France, because that is a known area for uprisings. If that isn't bad enough, the military force in Tripoli wasn't even allowed to help. They were told to stand down. According to the whistle-blowers, no extra forces were coming to help the embassy in Benghazi. This is extremely embarrassing! Nordstrom, before the Oversight Committee, said that the embassy failed to meet requirements and standards set for security, even though it was labeled as a high security area.
There is something seriously wrong if our leaders don't respond to requests for extra security and don't even respond when diplomats are under attack. Then, Susan Rice goes on five talk shows saying that a YouTube video caused the uprising when those in Benghazi knew the moment it began that terrorists were at fault. And we now find out  all of those mishaps by our leaders being covered up. If Americans knew about this before the election, would the outcome have changed? Former Secretary Clinton, between Benghazi and her "what does it matter" comments, looks unlikely for a 2016 presidential run now. We need leaders with accountability and a sense of personal responsibility. Senator Graham said it right: this is our Watergate. Hopefully politicians learn from this. Now, America needs to focus on consequences for our incompetent leaders, punishing the terrorists, and giving the victims' families the justice they deserve.
